According to Rhode Island State Police, the motorcyclist who was involved in a collision on the Jamestown Verrazzano Bridge Thursday afternoon has passed away. Around 3:30 p.m., troopers were dispatched to the eastbound side of the bridge in response to reports of a motorcycle collision. According to an inquiry, Jonathan W. Hopkins, 34, of South Kingstown, was weaving in and out of traffic at a fast speed when he rear-ended a vehicle.
According to state police, he was taken to Newport Hospital and subsequently declared dead. According to state police, the van’s driver and passenger were unharmed, and no charges have been filed.
