Family and friends are mourning the death of Mark Patterson, a resident of Wetumpka, Alabama who passed away tragically leaving the entire community sad and devastated. He was a large, gentle, wise, humorous, and attractive man on the inside as well as the outside. He had a warm heart, the most gorgeous grin, and a vivacious attitude that brightened any space. Mark will be missed by all who knew him.

A Wetumpka man was killed in a single-vehicle collision that happened at around 6:16 p.m. on Friday, November 1, 2024. Wetumpka, Alabama resident Mark E. Patterson, 45, suffered fatal injuries after his 2014 Ford F150 veered off the road, continued on private land, and then overturned in a ravine. Patterson was declared dead at the site of the collision because he was not wearing a seat belt.
Prior to the collision, Millbrook Police and a deputy from the Autauga County Sheriff’s Office were pursuing Patterson. In Millbrook, Elmore County, about three miles north of Montgomery, the collision happened on private land next to the Interstate 65 Service Road and Real Life Church. As troopers from the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue their investigation, no other information is available.
