Family and friends are mourning the death of their beloved brother and son Kyle Allen LeBlanc of Bridgeport, Connecticut, who tragically passed away on Friday. A local man was arrested Friday night in the stabbing death of a 29-year-old man who was found early Friday behind an East End social club, police said. The victim was identified as Kyle Allen LeBlanc of Bridgeport, Connecticut, according to Bridgeport Police Detective Jeffrey A. Holtz. LeBlanc was from Southington, but most recently lived in Stratford, Holtz noted.
Police arrested Ricardo Maldonado, 40, of Bridgeport and charged him with murder, Holtz said in an update Friday evening. Maldonado was arrested outside of his Cowles Street residence at 5 p.m., near where the killing occurred, Holtz sad, and his bond was set at $750,000. Holtz said detectives determined that the murder was an “isolated incident” and that Maldonado and the victim were “associates.”
Stratford police were originally called to a report of a person laying in the street and bleeding near Stratford Avenue and Bruce Avenue around 3 a.m. Friday, Holtz said. Officers later found LeBlanc there dead as a result of multiple stab wounds. Police later found what is believed to be the initial crime scene, which is behind the Thirty Plus Social Club on Stratford Avenue in Bridgeport, according to Holtz.
Before the arrest, Holtz said detectives from the Bridgeport Police Department’s Major Crimes Unit had processed both scenes, and homicide detectives were conducting interviews and following substantial leads.
